The Mission:

The Head of Product will play a pivotal role in shaping the vision, strategy, and development of Flight Studio’s products across a range of talent and creator founded business. You will lead a team of product managers and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of product initiatives.

This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, leadership, and a deep operational excellence to establish product practices, methodologies and principles that are scalable across a diverse range of industries, talent and product solutions across digital, physical and hybrid product solutions.

The Outcomes:

  • Portfolio Product Strategy Development: Develop and communicate a clear product vision and strategy aligned with Flight Studio’s overall objectives and personalised to each of our talent’s unique value proposition.
  • Portfolio Product Roadmap Ownership: Continuously assess market trends, competitive landscape, and customer feedback to refine and adapt the product roadmap in alignment with your overall product strategy and vision.
  • Product Methodology Definition: you’ll be building the foundations for our scalable product engine as a key monetisation lever across our slate of talent. This will require you to develop scalable systems for prioritisation of new product product development, rationalisation of new and expanded feature sets and justification for product decommission or descope.
  • Product Performance Accountability: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success of products and initiatives. Monitor performance, analyse data, and iterate on strategies to optimise outcomes and drive continuous improvement.
  • Product Operations and Resourcing Plan : Sourcing of the right partners (i.e. digital product agency, freelancers) + resourcing plan required to scale the product org.
  • Product Business Case Development: establish a business case for the most suitable build path for products based ( i.e. in house, joint venture, licensing or affiliate) on a rationalisation framework, fostering buy-in and sign off from the senior leadership team.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of product managers, providing guidance, support, and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration. Set clear goals and priorities, and empower team members to achieve them.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with finance, marketing, commercial, production (podcast), production (physical), developers & designers (digital) and other teams to drive product development from concept to launch. Foster strong relationships and facilitate effective communication to ensure alignment and smooth execution.
  • Product Quality Control and Delivery Accountability: Sign off of the product managers build of digital and physical products, in alignment with a product approval process and quality control measures.

The Competencies:

  • Experience prioritising multiple competing products against multiple verticals (i.e. industries) and formats (i.e digital and physical)
  • Hybrid experience - physical and digital products
  • Someone who can build a tool for product prioritisation that’s customised to our business needs
  • Strong financial acumen, business forecasting skills, pricing strategy
  • Experimentation mindset
  • Nice to have - Small to Medium sized business experience
  • Nice to have - Management consulting / VC background
  • Nice to have - Previous experience working with recommended build partners (i.e. agencies)
