Installer/Product Trainer (Battery Storage Systems)

Location: The role is mainly based at our sites in Newcastle-under-Lyme and Stoke-on-Trent (with some travel)

Job Type: Permanent, 37.

5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm (with some flexibility for out of hours cover)

Salary: £30k - £40k pa DOE and qualification level (plus performance bonus scheme)

GivEnergy are looking for an Installer Trainer to help us grow our approved installer network.

Collectively, our installers generate £35,000,000 per month fitting GivEnergy products so we’re committed to ensuring that our approved installers are equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to successfully install our market-leading range of battery storage system products as we grow together!

About Us:

GivEnergy is a globally established, leading energy storage manufacturer of electronic equipment designed to manage energy use and production.

We specialise in our range of inverters and battery systems which allow our users to store their renewable/cheap-rate energy, ease pressure on the grid and save some serious money.

Key Accountabilities Include:

  • Develop Training Materials: Create training materials such as manuals, guides, presentations, and videos to facilitate the installation process catering to the varying skill levels of your audience.
  • Schedule and Conduct Training Sessions: Lead training sessions to teach installers how to properly install and set up our products. This includes demonstrating installation procedures, explaining product features and functionalities, and providing hands-on training opportunities.
  • Provide Follow-Up Support: Offer follow-up support to installers after the training sessions to ensure they are able to successfully complete the installation process. This may involve answering additional questions, providing additional resources, or offering technical assistance as needed.
  • Gather Feedback: Solicit feedback from installers to evaluate the effectiveness of the training sessions and identify areas for improvement. Then utilise this feedback to refine training materials and delivery methods to better meet the needs of future attendees.
  • Stay Updated on Product Changes: Keep abreast of any updates or changes to the product range being trained on. This includes staying informed about product updates, new features, and best practices for installation to ensure that training content remains accurate and up-to-date.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Technical Contact Centre Teams: Work closely to coordinate training efforts and ensure a seamless customer experience for our installers.
  • Document Training Activities: Maintain detailed records of training activities, including attendance, topics covered, and customer feedback. Use this documentation to track training progress, identify trends, and measure the effectiveness of training efforts over time.
  • Be a GivEnergy Ambassador: Supporting the wider team at various shows and events.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, renewable energy/related field would be advantageous.
  • Experience working hands-on with renewable energy systems, products and technology would be desirable.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
  • Ability to convey complex technical information in a clear and accessible manner and the desire to share your knowledge of best practices.
  • Confident use of IT systems (battery storage systems, electrical components, and related electrical safety protocols would also be advantageous)
  • Willingness to travel for site visits and installer training sessions if required.
