  • Engineering leadership of our Platform function, where we are developing a high calibre platform functionality to drive better product strategies

  • What you’ll be working on 

  • Working closely with the Product Directors that focus on the application platform
  • Lead various teams of engineers in delivering amazing customer experiences and platform services to a wide portfolio of world leading retailers and CPGs
  • Work with market and product colleagues to identify business development opportunities and ensure efficient business value delivery
  • Deliver appropriate platform functionality to support our scalable suite of products
  • An engineering authority, with deep understanding of what great software looks like, how to scale it, and when to revisit architectural decisions.
  • Partner with the Global Head of Engineering and technology leadership teams to evaluate opportunities for improvement and redefine excellence in software engineering.
  • Drive the health and happiness of the engineering organisation through hiring, people development, and organisation structure planning.
  • Partner with other Directors of Engineering to enhance the tech culture and processes.
  • Collaborate with key cross-functional partners to set direction, shape the roadmap, and land things end-to-end.
  • Extract qualitative and quantitative insights from squads to unlock potential and efficiencies.

    What we expect from you

  • Experience leading a large agile engineering team. You should have a deep understanding of agile principles and practices, and be able to effectively communicate and collaborate with your team members.
  • Prior experience working, managing and scaling Platform.
  • Ability to reform and to deliver direction across the team.
  • Strong understanding of technology and architecture. You should be able to make informed decisions about the technologies that are used, and you should also be able to design and implement scalable and resilient software architectures.
  • With people at the heart of every decision we make, you should have strong experience in people management
  • Project management experience in managing the development of software projects. 
  • Ability to design and implement solutions that leverage Microsoft's technology stack.
  • Passionate about using agile and advocate of test-driven development methodologies and has the ability to lead and coach a team in the use of these methodologies.
  • Deep understanding of software architecture principles and practices.
  • Experience with cloud-based platforms, such as Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience with Microsoft technologies
  • Excellent communications skills
