About Job:

As Finance Director you would be leading and directing the Finance, IT and Procurement functions within the business to deliver a comprehensive service that supports the strategic objectives of the business. Works with the Managing Director and Group Director of Finance – Clinimed Holdings Limited to develop and implement finance strategy and initiatives to support future needs of the business.

Responsible for providing strategic and financial guidance and to put in place all necessary policies, procedures and internal controls to ensure sound financial management and safeguarding the company's assets as well as complying with all legislative and corporate requirements.

Deliver fit for purpose, cyber secure IT systems to support business requirements now and into the future working alongside Clinimed Group IT.

Manage and support the procurement team to deliver proactive cost saving initiatives, supplier risk management and dual sourcing opportunities.

Lead the FMP finance team to provide accurate and timely financial analysis and support across all functional areas of the business; work with the operations and commercial teams to provide true business partnering to drive improvements in both profit and cash generation.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Senior leadership role and part of the FMP senior management team (SLT) contributing to business strategy and performance; lead the development and monitoring of financial KPIs to deliver agreed targets.
  • Line management responsibility of the finance, procurement, and IT teams. Manage, coach, and develop the team through effective objective setting and performance reviews; work with team members on personal development plans to support the individual and business goals.
  • Seek to continuously improve the performance of the finance function through more efficient systems and processes as well as driving profit improvement through greater business partnering with the commercial (sales) and operations (manufacturing, warehouse, and logistics) functions.
  • Ensure all FMP financial reporting is accurate and timely with full explanations for performance, variances to plan (margin and overheads) and corrective actions are put in place.
  • Ensure all Clinimed Group reporting requirements are met and in accordance with the Group Finance and Governance Manual (GFGM), building a strong working relationship with the Director of Group Finance.
  • Ensure all financial management reporting is on time and in full (financial reports, commentary, and variances) including customer, product and Clean Room performance; fully reconcile all reports to the business’s trading account each month to ensure one version of the truth.
  • Ensure that realistic profit and cash forecasts are prepared for both FMP Senior Leadership Team and Group as and when required.
  • Ensure all capital expenditure proposals are prepared, submitted, approved and the spend managed in accordance with Group requirements; maximise returns from capital investment through challenge and insight to ensure that the business delivers robust capital plans.
  • Manage working capital performance to ensure cash generation is maximised across stock, debtors and creditors including FX management in accordance with Group requirements.
  • Ensure that appropriate governance and internal financial controls are in place, effective and regularly reviewed in compliance with the requirements of the GFGM.
  • Work with the Managing Director and wider business to prepare the annual budget to enable the delivery of the strategic plan in accordance with Group budget requirements.
  • Work with external advisors in support of the annual audit, statutory accounts, and tax requirements.
  • Drive the performance of the procurement team through appropriate KPIs to manage risk, sourcing of materials and cost saving initiatives.
  • Work alongside Clinimed Group IT to Ensure that IT systems are fit for purpose and cyber secure with appropriate IT resource, policies, and procedures (including managing third party IT relationships)
  • Ensure that the business ERP system provides the right information, at the right time, to the right people in the business; specifically ensure that product costing is accurate and used correctly for managing customer pricing.
  • Ensure appropriate risk management policies and procedures are in place including risk registers, crisis management plans, disaster recovery plans and business continuity plans.
  • Foster close working relationships with group trading entities to ensure that intercompany activities operate smoothly and effectively for the benefit of the wider Group.
  • Ensure appropriate controls are in place for the business Barclay’s bank account access.
  • Any other ad hoc activities as deemed necessary for the fulfilment of the role.

About You:

An ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience, skills, and attributes. Please note that these competencies are not ranked in order of priority. Following criteria will be used in selecting a candidate.

  • Qualified accountant with degree level education.
  • Previous experience of working within a high volume, manufacturing environment.
  • Experience as a Finance Director / Senior Manager in a manufacturing industry.
  • Strong IT skills with good understanding of Finance and Business systems.
  • Proven functional leadership and management skills within a challenging environment.
  • Good knowledge of structured problem-solving tools and methodologies.
  • Analytical, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communicator, both written and verbal at all levels.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Ability to influence and lead change.
  • Excellent motivator, self-starting, with an enthusiastic approach.
  • Ability to work as an individual or as part of a team.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity.
