Foreperson - Precast Segmental Viaducts ‘PSV’Are you looking to progress your career by working on Britain’s biggest construction project? Our work is essential to enable HS2 trains to travel between London and Birmingham as well as continue their journey up to Manchester. It’s an incredibly exciting time to join us - we’re at peak construction with work really ramping up on a broad range of assets including bridges, tunnels and viaducts. Plus you’d join 9,000 people across 72 nationalities working on this exciting section of HS2 across the region.We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Foreperson within the PSV Team.This role will be based on site in Water Orton, The project’s most complex network of structures in the West Midlands, this sublot includes the Delta Junction – a triangular section of the high-speed railway made up of nine precast segmental viaducts, embankments, and other bridging structures, with around 10km of track crossing a network of motorways, roads and rivers.About the rolePrecast Segmental Viaduct is a unique method never used in the UK and involves highly complex construction sequences with the use of bespoke plant design to erect precast viaducts.To provide guidance and control of a team comprising, Section Foremen, Junior Foremen and Gangers. Monitoring and management of budget for MSM direct works. Contribution to change control and assistance with the production of contract mechanisms for cost recovery. Interfaces with other Foremen, Agents and Team Leaders, together with Engineering Staff. Manages a team of Supervisory Staff. Periodic involvement in project steering groups and cross-discipline action groups.Experienced required• Experience working on a large structures & Pre-cast Segments within an infrastructure project• Able to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure that these are followed accurately.• Strong experience of minimum 5 years in the role of Foreman for self-delivery complex heavy civil works Projects mandatory (Dams, bridges, Power Plants, Stadiums…)• Experience in using bespoke tools or formworks for complex civil works structures (viaducts piers, Abutments)• Strong work ethic with flexibility to work night shifts and Weekends.• Able to work on own initiative and seek out opportunities in line with level of responsibility.• Holds a current driving license and CSCS Card, or able to register for CSCS card once mobilized on the Project.•Capable of and demonstrative experience in taking ownership of the works from start to finish, including the handover of the works.• Experience in deck erection works, involving post tensioning activities, either precast or cast in situ• Has already worked with a precast deck erection tool: launching girder, gantry…• Experience in span erection on shoring• Experience in heavy jacking operations• Experience in heavy lifting operationsPlease note candidates will need to have a current valid right to work in the UK to be considered for this roleBenefits of working with us•Access to Employee assistance programmes•Annual flu vaccinations•Health risk assessments•Healthcare•Flexible working•Enhanced maternity and paternity•Excellent pension contributions•Travel allowance for eligible candidates•Car/ car allowanceAbout Balfour Beatty VINCIBalfour Beatty VINCI is a long-established joint venture between two powerhouses for the delivery of critical infrastructure across rail, transport and other iconic projects in the UK and beyond.
