Health & Safety Officer in Washington

Zenith People are working with our client who are a Manufacturer and are looking to recruit an experienced Health & Safety Officer on a permanent basis.Reporting into the Plant Manager, the main purpose of the role is to provide dedicated Health and Safety support across a busy Manufacturing PlantMain Duties & Responsibilities * Maintain the company Health and Safety and Environmental Management systems to ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standard including updating and implementing policies and procedures when required * Review and update the legal register * Manage the risk assessment process * Oversee first aid arrangements * Organise and deliver training * Update HSE Metrics * Write and issue reports * Write and issue Health and Safety briefings * Carry out regular safety audits and tours * Carry out Health and Safety & Environmental monitoring and assessments * Chair health and safety meetings and issue minutes * Coordinate accident and incident investigations including maintaining logs, statistics and ensuring actions are complete * Liaise with the HSE and other regulatory bodies as required * Develop and run health and safety initiatives * Manage PPE * Oversee Contractors procedures and permits to work * Any other duties commensurate with the position as and when required.Skills, Knowledge and Experience required:-Personal Criteria * Flexible and adaptable * Professional * Approachable * Excellent communication skills * Ability to deal with people at all levels * Keen and enthusiastic * Qualified to a minimum of NEBOSH Certificate level * At least 5 year’s experience of Health, Safety and environmental practice in a manufacturing environment * Experience as an internal auditor * Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills are essential * Must have practical auditing experience of ISO 45001 and ISO14001Knowledge and ExperienceIf you are an experienced HSE Officer from a Manufacturing background and would like to be considered for this position please click apply now
