Think FE are working closely with a college based in Berkshire to find calm and caring Learning Support staff to work with learners on a 1:2:1 basis, or in small groups.This is a part-time contract, working for 3 days a week until the summer holidays in July 2024 with a potential to go back in September. There is also the chance for the right person to continue working from the new academic year in September.Whilst we are ideally looking for experienced Learning Support and Teaching Assistant staff, we will consider people with the correct personality and attitude required for effective classroom support.What will you be doing?The role as an LSA can be quite varied, it includes but is not limited to: Supporting students in class 1-to-1. Supports schoolwork under teacher’s supervision. Helps learner understand instruction through a variety of means and encourages self-confidence and independence. Identifies signs of distress and offers reassurance. Implements care programmes, as appropriate. Helps and encourages learner to communicate. What do you need?Due to the location, you will need to be able to drive and have access to your own vehicle As a minimum you will need level 2 (GCSE, Functional Skills) English & Maths. Ideally you will have support experience, particularly working with 16-19 year old learners that have a range of needs and/or difficulties Next stepsOnce you've applied one of our friendly further education consultants will give you a call to discuss this opportunity.
