Managing Director

An outstanding opportunity is now available for a Managing Director to lead the UK operation of Anytime Fitness.

The UK Managing Director will oversee all franchise support services to more than 180 clubs in the UK, Ireland, Jersey and Guernsey.

The successful candidate will manage the day to day running of the business and ensure strategic objectives are achieved with a particular focus on club openings, franchise sales and franchisee profitability.

As the Managing Director you will demonstrate drive, commitment, and the capability to move the franchise system forward whilst setting the highest professional working standards, demonstrating leadership, continuity in decision making and confidence to the organisation at all times.

Candidate Specification

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proven Leadership skills - the ability to lead, drive and motivate groups and individuals, delegating tasks effectively with a high level of interpersonal skill.
  • Strong ability to influence, persuade and negotiate.
  • Highly developed analytical skills leading to sound judgements on a wide range of complex situations.
  • Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills with the ability to influence and guide a range of stake holders at multiple levels both internally and externally.
  • Sound financial management including the preparation and delivery of business plans and budgets.
  • Logical problem solver, well organised and meticulous attention to detail.

Experience:

  • Experience of working within a central franchise organisation
  • Experience of dealing with a wide range of stake holders
  • Experience in building and enhancing positive working relationships.
  • Highly successful history of achieving commercial targets and growing revenue lines.
  • Experience of board level reporting and presenting
  • Driving quality and consistency across a multi-unit business

Knowledge:

  • Strong knowledge of franchise operations
  • Understanding and passion for fitness and wellness services
  • Ideally qualified to degree level or equivalent
  • Awareness of current industry challenges within franchise / fitness sectors
  • Understanding of new business openings
  • Understanding of property and planning application processes
  • Awareness of good and correct HR management practices
