Marketing Manager

Job purpose

RSM is seeking an experienced Marketing Manager to growour Professional and Business Services Industry Group. The group covers sectorsincluding legal, consulting, architects, surveyors, recruitment and otherbusiness services organisations.

You will be responsible fordeveloping, delivering and monitoring strategic marketing and businessdevelopment activity for the industry group and the sectors within. Taking anational view, you will be a key part of the industries marketing team, workingwith the Clients and Markets team industry lead, heads of sectors and other keystaff and partners to ensure the firm effectively positions its industry expertise,adds value to clients and acquires quality new business and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Advising on industry and sector marketing strategy – determining the most effective and efficient way of engaging in a meaningful way with our audiences, and ensuring a focus on our priority areas of growth
  • Lead on, and be the face of all industry driven marketing and BD activity
  • Develop and deliver the annual industry plan, checking progress against plan regularly, and ensuring delivery within budget and adequate ROI
  • Undertake research to identify industry targets and issues and support marketing activity
  • Develop issues driven campaigns and thought leadership, working across all service lines, regions and the Demand Generation team to drive and measure lead generation
  • Ensure web, social and other content profiles RSM well within the industry, and profile is maintained by writing sector content on a regular basis
  • Manage sector third party relationships, explore new and maximise existing sponsorships and other associations to position each sector appropriately as well as monitoring ROI
  • Actively network within the sectors and build internal and external networks for the benefit of the sector groups
  • Advise on high value and strategically important industry proposals as appropriate and understand the industries tendering activity to influence success rates and support positioning
  • Develop and maintain marketing materials to support business development, such as up to date sector information, testimonials and credentials and act as central point for collating innovative ideas and driving best practice
  • Manage and advise on the use of data to ensure high quality sector data for targeting
  • Deliver high quality, effective internal communication, including collaboration hub content, within and on behalf of the sector
  • Champion the industry BI report and use as a basis to drive KPIs and inform decision making within the sectors
  • Be responsible for developing social media content for the sector and developing profiles of the sector team
  • Support client and target account planning for strategic clients and targets, as a sector specialist
  • Liaise with the PR team to ensure adequate, timely and appropriate sector PR coverage
  • Develop and manage the industry marketing budget
  • Assist with national marketing and business development projects as required

  • Experienced manager with a track record of developing marketing content
  • A strong commercial acumen and genuine interest in the industry and their growth - Experience of the professional services sector an advantage
  • Priority focus on lead generation and drive/hunger to win work
  • A professional, credible and confident communicator, with strong influencing skills and the ability to work effectively with the sector heads, displaying confidence and national authority
  • Excellent project management and coordination skills
