As an industry leader committed to excellence, this organisation is looking for an Occupational Health Advisor to elevate the patient care to new heights.
You will provide comprehensive advisory services, facilitate health initiatives, and ensure compliance with regulatory standardsYour duties as a Occupational Health Advisor:Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Occupational Health Service.
Carrying out Health Surveillance, Audiometry, Spirometry and Fitness for work assessmentsProviding health education and promotion to the client.
Undertaking case management over the phone/in person, producing high standard and quality management advice reportsProviding clinical supervision and supporting other team members where less experiencedEmpowering Occupational Health Nurse advisors to undertake a wider range of clinical activities by ensuring appropriate training, updating and monitoring of relevant training programmesSupporting the OH manager to advise, monitor and assess the clinical practice of the OH team.
Responding to client/manager’s requests for support/information on the working environment.
Maintaining appropriate records in line with departmental protocols on record keepingTaking a senior role in the development and provision of a high profile and pro-active Occupational Health ServiceMaintaining valid and up to date registration with the NMC and comply with NMC guidelines in relation to professional issues and clinical supervisionPromoting equality of opportunity and providing an environment in which the dignity of individuals is respected and free from workplace harassment and bullying.
Undertaking defined projects as agreed with the head of Occupational health to support the delivery of high quality clinically effective careAssisting in the design and implementation of Health Promotion initiatives in partnership with the wider OH teamDeveloping good working relationships and maintaining effective communications with client’s managers and other professionals and external contractsProviding Occupational Health employees with appropriate regular appraisals, ensuring training and development needs are identified and metThe skillset required as an Occupational Health Advisor:Qualified or Registered Nurse with a valid NMC PIN, a diploma or degree in Occupational Health is preferableExperience in a commercial occupational health setting, particularly with exposure to case management and health surveillanceExcellent knowledge of occupational health and employment legislationApproachable with good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oralApproachable, polite and friendly to build and maintain strong working relationships and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team environment
