The Recruitment Bunker are exclusively recruiting for a Press Officer for our client based in Coventry.

As a Press Officer specialising in the Automotive industry, your primary responsibility is to enhance the group of company’s brand image and reputation of the group of companies through effective communication strategies.

You will be tasked with managing relationships with media outlets, creating compelling press releases, and ensuring accurate representation of the group in the public domain.

Your role will contribute to shaping the narrative around our automotive products and initiatives, ultimately supporting the overall business objectives.

Role Responsibilities

Media Relations:

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key media representatives in the automotive sector.
  • Proactively engage with journalists to secure positive coverage and manage inquiries.

Press Release Development:

  • Craft well-written, engaging press releases highlighting key developments, product launches, and corporate news.
  • Ensure timely distribution of press releases to relevant media outlets and stakeholders.

Crisis Management:

  • Act as a point of contact for media during crisis situations, providing accurate and timely information to protect the company's reputation.
  • Develop crisis communication plans and coordinate responses in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

Event Communication:

  • Coordinate and communicate information related to automotive events, ensuring comprehensive media coverage.
  • Work closely with event organisers to maximise our brand presence.

Content Creation:

  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather information and insights for content creation in relation to press.

Essential Skills:

  • Degree or relevant qualification in Communications and PR or a relevant subject
  • 3-5 Years of experience as a Press Officer
  • Knowledge and understanding of the automotive press industry
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences
  • Proficient in creating clear, concise, and persuasive press releases
  • Strong understanding of the UK automotive media landscape and established contacts within the industry
  • Ability to navigate and manage relationships with journalists and influencers
  • Experience in developing and implementing effective crisis communication plans
  • Quick decision-making and adaptability in high-pressure situations
  • In-depth knowledge of the automotive industry, including market trends, competitors, and regulatory landscape
  • Ability to translate technical information into accessible and compelling narratives for the general public
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams
  • Flexibility and willingness to contribute beyond traditional PR responsibilities.
