At Nudge Education and Nudge Minds, we know that every child is unique. That's why we focus on supporting one child at a time. We believe every child matters and deserves to have a life worth living.

Can you help us on our mission to ensure every child can live a Life Worth Living?

Who we are:

We are Nudge Education.Last year in the UK around 90,000 young people were persistently absent from education. This needs to change. We exist to ensure that children who are chronically disengaged from education are never left behind and can receive life changing support, guidance and mentoring to help them thrive.

Who we need:

For the first time in the history of Nudge Education, we have a need for a standalone quality assurance role. The elements of this role have previously been embedded into others but now, in order to reach as many students as possible, we need the extra capacity to ensure that each intervention is high quality.

A Nudge Quality Assurer will be responsible for the first initial meeting with a student (and the first face from Nudge that a student sees!), conducting drop-in visits and our formal support reviews.

A successful Quality Assurer will;

  • Embody the vision and mission of Nudge and knows what a successful intervention looks like.
  • Have a keen eye for detail and be able to write high-quality reports.
  • Know what good engagement looks like and will have suggestions for practitioners about how to improve engagement

Whether it is a professional or personal link, one thing is certain, the work you do with our young people will change the course of their life.

Essential / Required Skills:

  • Ability to build relationships with young people who are facing crises
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders
  • Safeguarding qualification from last 12 months
  • Experience of working with young people in a professional capacity (teaching, youth work, counselling or similar)
  • Disclosure Barring Service certificate from last three months or registration on update service
  • Desire to support the vision of eradicating chronic disengagement from education
  • Ability to deliver effective feedback

Desirable Skills:

  • Intermediate IT skills and experience of working with word processing and spreadsheet software
  • Specialist knowledge of learning disabilities and conditions such as ADHD, PDD, ASD
  • Awareness of National Curriculum and relevant key stages
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Qualification in therapeutic discipline (counselling, mental health first aid, CBT for example)
  • Recognised Teaching Qualification (PTLLS or higher)
  • Training in de-escalation techniques within last 12 months (MAPA, Team Teach or similar)
  • Teaching of students with Special Educational Needs
  • Experience of working with young people with social, emotional or mental health needs
  • Driving Licence and access to own vehicle

Whilst relevant qualifications and experience are desirable, having the heart to work with these disengaged children is key.

We invest in our network of practitioners by providing a range of Professional Development opportunities to add to your existing skills and knowledge.

We comply with strict safeguarding policies and undertake thorough background checks in accordance with Safer Recruitment Practice. Salary £27,500.00 - £34,000.00 DOE (full time equivalent)
