Overview:

Everest People Solutions are recruiting for a Quality Manager for a business based in Wolverhampton. The Quality Manager will be reporting into the Head of the Technical Department. The Quality Manager will be maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality across all operational aspects. Leading a team of food safety and quality professionals, you'll collaborate with various departments to implement and enforce policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. The expertise of the Quality Manager will ensure the safety and quality of the food products, reflecting the commitment to excellence, customer satisfaction, and industry compliance.

Key Duties & Responsibilities for the Quality Manager

  • Lead and guide a team comprising Quality Controllers, Quality Assurance Auditors, and QA Supervisors, offering direction, training, and performance assessments.
  • Cultivate an environment of continuous learning and advancement within the team, encouraging individual growth and skill enhancement.
  • Unify staff from diverse backgrounds to develop comprehensive quality procedures, ensuring alignment and agreement.
  • Provide hands-on support to instil a culture of Quality Assurance and Food Safety.
  • Establish and uphold robust quality assurance processes across all production, storage, and distribution stages, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality products.
  • Assist in maintaining the Quality Management System.
  • Develop, implement, and uphold comprehensive food safety management systems and programs in adherence to local, national, and international regulations.
  • Conduct regular internal audits and inspections to identify improvement areas and promptly address non-compliance issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality-related issues and implement preventive measures.
  • Ensure understanding and adherence to quality procedures within the factory.
  • Manage non-conforming products, including the Hold and Reject process.
  • Collaborate with other departments to promote site quality initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to highest standards in factory operating practices.
  • Meet all BRCGS, customer, and retailer requirements.
  • Coordinate the QA team for third-party and customer audits.
  • Investigate non-conformances and complaints using Root Cause Techniques, ensuring timely and appropriate responses.
  • Follow up on non-conformance reports and take necessary actions.
  • Support in addressing non-conformances from external audits.

Requirements for the Quality Manager

Essential:

  • Food Safety Level 3
  • HACCP Level 3
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within the poultry industry.
  • Excellent communication skills for professional interaction with customers.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and management abilities.
  • Capacity to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Effective time management and organisational skills to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in IT, including Word and Excel.
  • Self-motivated and committed to professional development.
  • Ensure consistent application of company disciplinary, grievance, and absence procedures.

Desirable:

  • Food Safety Level 4
  • Internal Auditing certification.
  • Proficiency in Root Cause Analysis Techniques.
