Senior Android Engineer in Essex

Job title: Senior Android Engineer.

Reports to: CTO.

Location : Office based role in Debden, Essex, IG10.

Salary: up to £100k.

Benefits : Free parking on site parking and on site gym.

Schedule : Monday to Friday.

We are recruiting for an outgoing and enthusiastic individual to join our growing engineering team and work on our native Android application and help us to deliver an exceptional, bug free user experience.

The ideal candidate should be excited to work in a high growth and fast-paced environment. You will have the opportunity to make important contributions and be a key player at a hugely exciting time for the business as we continue to scale. 

Key Deliverables:

To include, but not limited to:

• Write well-designed, testable and reliable code.
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of our applications as we scale.
• Collaborate with UX designers to implement user friendly designs and backend engineers to integrate APIS and data services seamlessly.
• Contribute towards the technical strategy of our platform.
• Maintain a sensible level of documentation.
• Stay updated with the latest tools, methodologies and industry best practices.

The Ideal Candidate:

• 5+ years developing Android applications.
• Experience programming in Kotlin & JetPack UI. 
• Familiar with GitHub actions.
• Understanding of RESTful APIs.
• Comfortable working in high volume work environments with strict time constraints.
• Working on eCommerce and or video streaming platforms is a bonus.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with an ability to think critically about system functionality and potential flaws.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
