Senior Quantity Surveyor in Loughton

We're looking for a/ Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our project team based in London.

Location : London - remote working available, with occasional travel to the office required

Contract : Permanent, Full-Time

What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor you'll be working within the project team, supporting them in delivering a multi-million pound scheme.

Your day to day will include:

• To implement and comply with Kier Policy and procedures for commercial functional governance
• To maximise the planned gross margin on the project and support the achievement pf the project's budgeted profitability
• Appoint contractors and subcontractors and to place orders for materials and plant within the delegated authorities
• To propose, negotiate and agree the project managers variations to contracts with customers and suppliers within the delegated authorities
• Implement polices for price, costs and gross margins
• To measure and value work to support the invoicing of customers and payment to suppliers within the delegate authorities
• Positively manage the cash flows of the projects
• To measure and value work to support the invoicing of customers and payments to suppliers
• Agree the progress and value of work with customers and suppliers · Lead manage and motivate the projects commercial staff and to establish its full commercial contribution to the organisation and specifically to ensure that relationships between project and surveying functions are collaborative · Identify and promote best practice throughout projects · Support the generation of tenders and the winning of contracts · Manage the commercial relationships with customers, contractors and subcontractors on project · Develop and build relationships with customers, contractors and subcontracts that support the fulfilment of contractual obligations · Establish and maintain the best relationship with the client, through and beyond construction, to satisfactory completion, and to deliver improve value to the client and company · Assess, control, mitigate and report risks and to implement Kier Group's risk policy · Support the fulfilment of contracts safely on time, and to the required quality while minimising cost · Provide regular, accurate, consolidated reports and forecast for the project to area management, Kier Group and customers on risk, finance including end of life performance capability

What are we looking for?

This role of Senior Quantity Surveyor is great for you if have:

• Diverse and clear communication skills with experience of effective communication with multidisciplinary teams, client teams, sub-contractors, and the wider supply chain
• Holds the relevant qualifications (Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying desirable).
• Experience within a similar role.
• Literate and Numerate.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise.
• Ability to work to deadlines.
• Willing to undertake training and development when appropriate.
• Must be flexible and able to work as part of a team and using own initiative.
• Ability to use a range of IT packages including Microsoft Office and bespoke packages
