 As part of our global community of experts, you will be working on some of the world’s most exciting engineering projects.

We are now seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to strengthen our Ground Engineering team for complex projects for Cementation. This is a key role where you will carry out all commercial and contractual activities in the delivery of the piling and ground engineering projects working with variety of Clients and contract forms.

You will also be an active member of the project / Business Stream team offering support, advice and administering all commercial and contract duties ensuring discipline/governance is maintained throughout.

You’ll:

  • Understand and have experience in the review and agreement of contract terms and conditions ensuring Skanska Legal and CSL governance is adhered to at all times.
  • Have had experience and administer the use of a wide range of contract forms, including as a minimum NEC and JCT (various options) and have sufficient experience to understand and administer bespoke / non-standard forms.
  • Be skilled and confident in the review of proposed contracts, identify unacceptable terms and conditions and negotiate suitable compliant alternatives.
  • Be able to negotiate contracts, bonds, warranties, guarantees etc with external parties whilst liaising with all relevant internal stakeholders (with assistance from Skanska Legal, CSL / Skanska Commercial Leads)
  • Be able to do a full commercial and contract administration from tender to final account (plus post completion duties) for a variety of projects (varying size, discipline and complexity)
  • Complete cost and value reconciliation along with complete end life forecasting on a monthly basis for all projects / the business stream
  • Manage the Risk and Opportunity processes for the project/s in accordance with company and group procedures ensuring mitigation measures are identified and implement at the right time to benefit the project / business stream.
  • Understand and implement all commercial and contract governance ensuring compliance by the Project / Business Stream
  • Provide support and training for site staff on commercial and contract issues.
  • Assist in collating information for any relevant third parties representing the business (insurance, audits etc.)
  • We’re looking for: 

  • A comprehensive level of commercial and contract experience with piling experience
  • Experience of main contracting
  • Experience in various forms of contract – but as a minimum NEC and JCT
  • BSc or HND in Quantity Surveying or other equivalent construction related subject.
  • Preferably qualified to RICS accreditation
