Job Title: Senior Workforce AdvisorSalary: Scale 6 - £18.

10 per hourHours: 37.

5 hours per weekLocation: Knockbracken Healthcare Park, Saintfield Road – Regularly travel between NIAS facilitiesDuration: 3-6 monthsJob Purpose:The postholder will be a key member of the Workforce Directorate and will contribute to the achievement of the overall Directorate’s performance objectives.

The postholder will have specific responsibilities in relation to a workforce area(s), providing core advice, guidance and support to Managers on a range of workforce issues, with a particular focus on attendance management and employee relations matters, as outlined below.

In addition, the postholder will be expected to act as a member of the wider team in ensuring the delivery of a proactive, responsive and professional HR service to internal and external stakeholders.

General Responsibilities: 1.

To provide core advice, guidance and support to staff and Managers across a range of workforce issues, consistent with nationally agreed terms and conditions, regional and local workforce policy and procedure, relevant legislation, and best practice.

2.

To participate in Job Matching/Job Evaluation processes as a Job Analyst and/or Management Side Panel Member as part of an annual rota.

3.

To participate in employment investigations, disciplinary/grievance/attendance hearings, and recruitment panels.

4.

To undertake the delivery of workforce presentations and training sessions.

5.

To contribute to the development of workforce policies, procedures and supporting management resource materials.

6.

To contribute to an ongoing programme of modernisation and continuous improvement within the Workforce Directorate, leading on specific projects as required.

Qualifications/Experience:EssentialHave a relevant degree or recognised professional qualification plus a minimum of two years’ post graduate middle* management experience within a Human Resources (HR) function, providing professional advice and guidance on a range of workforce issues.

ORHave a minimum of five years’ experience two of which must be at a middle* management level, within a Human Resources (HR) function, providing professional advice and guidance on a range of workforce issues.
