Summary.

Weare seeking a Technical Author to join our expanding TechnicalPublications team who are responsible for delivering documentationand content for our Products and Services on our CustomerPortal.

We are looking for candidates that arepassionate about technical writing for software.

The idealcandidate would be an excellent communicator turning technicalcontent into userfacing documentation.

Thecandidate would have experience in working with a Development /Product team to produce content that is easily understood.

The rolewill involve working with other SMEs with a wealth of knowledge onthe products and customers to gather technical details for thecontent and create new and innovative ideas for presenting theinformation.

This role is an opportunity for theright individual to gain more experience working within atechnologydriven industry.

Some technical knowledge is desirablebut training on soft skills and required software will begiven.

This role involves hybridworking.

Duties andResponsibilities.

• Produceclear concise consistent and easytounderstand digital content thatconforms to the company style.
• Liaise withinternal teams to gather information so that you can producedocumentation.
• Engage with stakeholders in thebusiness to understand documentation requirements and identifyinformation gaps in current documentation.
• Takecustomer feedback to improve documentation and the enduserexperience.
• Proofread and edit draftdocumentation created by others for grammar spelling punctuationtone and adherence to the companys styleguide.
• Run a qualityassurance process fordocumentation that ensures that subject matter experts periodically(and in a timely fashion) review existing articles and guides foraccuracy.
• Monitor and measure the effectivenessand impact of the documentation using metrics such as page viewsdownloads ratings comments and usersatisfaction.
• Identify improvements to our teamprocesses and authoring practices and lead the implementation ofchanges.

Knowledge andExperience.

Essential:

• Atleast 2 years experience as a technical author or in a similar rolepreferably in the software or technologyindustry.
• Degree in language or technicalrelated discipline.
• Excellent comprehensionskills.
• Excellent English verbal and writtencommunication skills.
• Proficient in MicrosoftOffice i.e. Word Powerpoint Excel.
• Experienceof working with a Development or Product team operating accordingto the Agile framework.
• Experience of usingprofessional authoring tools orCMSs.

Desirable:

• Someknowledge of technical subjects around software computing and IT(such as APIs XML databases programming/scripting Microsoft Azureetc).
• Previous experience working as part of aninternational team.
• Knowledge of HTML /CSS.
• Experience of using task tracking software(such as Jira orDevOps).

• Able tocreate suitable nonwritten content (such as diagrams screencaptures and infographics) to accompany writtendocumentation.

• Reacts tofeedback in a positiveway.

• An innatecuriosity about subjects and a willingness to ask colleagues anynecessary questions.

• Ableto communicate effectively at all levels including at developerfunctional consultant IT infrastructure enduser and process ownerlevels.
