Job Description

HOURS:            Full time and part time available. Harmless operate a 4-day working model with full time staff working 32 hours per week. 

SALARY:           £23,078 per annum, pro rata, rising to £24,512 per annum, pro rata, on successful completion of a probationary period.

 

Please note: Ability to travel nationwide is an essential part of this role.

 DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

 

  • Training sales and income generated help fund our vital support services and it is a fundamental objective of the training operation to ensure this continues. The successful candidate will be part of a dedicated team who are committed to our organisational ambition to become a fully self-funded organisation across all services. You will be expected to proactively and assertively help us achieve this objective. 
  • In addition, our team work passionately to ensure we have a positive influence in the field of mental health, self harm and suicide prevention by challenging stigma, raising awareness and ensuring we increase the confidence, skills and knowledge of those who support others.  

 

This includes: 

 

  • Deliver high quality and professional training on behalf of Harmless and its associated projects to external parties including (but not limited to) external organisations, schools, professionals and carers. 

 

  • Deliver a range of training packages including (but not limited to) PSHE workshops, specialist workshops and full day and half day specialist sessions on the themes of: 
    1. Mental health 
    2. Self harm 
    3. Suicide prevention 

 

  • A willingness to offer personal experience during training delivery by sharing own experiences of distress (and/or self harm) and recovery (in line with Harmless’ service user led ethos) 

 

  • To be an integral part of, and proactively contribute to, the training operation that both looks to increase revenue and reduce costs in order uphold team objectives. 

 

 

  • Build and maintain excellent professional relationships with delegates and/or organisations with a view to secure future training opportunities and repeat training bookings.

 

  • To work with Harmless management and wider training team in continuously improving Harmless’ training packages and resources including (but not limited to) current content, delivery methods, course materials and handouts, booking process, designing and delivering new training packages in order to meet current demands in training, compete with other organisations and increase revenue. Including, but not limited to,  helping develop and maintain training content in line with changes in the field and to the highest standard 

 

  • Deliver training against agreed learning outcomes and ensure training materials are appropriate for delegates requirements. 

 

  • Be an integral part of the training booking process and help ensure the booking 'experience' is efficient and effective.   

 

  • To uphold and contribute to the Harmless evaluation and data collection processes.

 

  • Report to Harmless management regularly about the progress of training and address any issues that may arise, recording relevant statistics where required. 

 

  • Promote the work of Harmless in a positive manner and recommend sellable resources and alternative training opportunities where possible. 

 

  • To be aware of safeguarding issues that may arise and follow Harmless protocol in managing this.

  • Ability to deliver high quality and professional training to a variety of delegates (Essential) 

 

  • Ability to deliver a range of training packages including (but not limited to):

  • Experience of delivering professional training at a high standard (Essential) 

 

  • Experience of delivering developmental programmes in Mental Health (Desirable)

  • Experience of delivery development training to mental health staff (Desirable) 

 

  • Experience of delivering training/teaching/workshops to children and young people (Desirable) 

 

  • Experience of delivering CPD training and/or ASIST training and/or MHFA training (Desired)
