Technical Manager, Tax London Hybrid working 2 days in the office and 3 from home. Permanent Full Time and 35 hours Up to £80 000pa depending on experience. Join our team as Technical Manager, Tax. ICAEW through the Tax Faculty plays an authoritative role as the voice of tax for Chartered Accountants who provide tax services. ICAEW is a world leader of the accountancy, finance, and tax profession.It is a professional membership organisation and through its Tax Faculty provides insight and technical leadership to shape the development of the tax agenda and the tax profession. Overall purpose of this role of Technical Manager, Tax. The key responsibility of this role is to oversee the production of high-quality technical and practical information for ICAEW members and to support the work of the Tax Faculty as the voice of tax for ICAEW. Technical Manager, Tax Responsibilities include: The main responsibilities of the role are to work with the Head of Tax, Tax Faculty staff and the wider Reputation and Influence Department to achieve the following outcomes:Support and manage ICAEW tax committees on personal taxes, employment taxes and national insurance.Manage engagement with members and stakeholders across an agreed range of tax topics in support of ICAEW's public interest role, to include liaison with HMRC, tax policymakers, relevant ICAEW Committees and members, as well as other stakeholders in those agreed topics.Develop and strengthen ICAEW's position as a leading professional body involved in tax policy design and development across the agreed portfolio of tax topics, thereby enhancing the reputation and influence of ICAEW with policymakers and stakeholders as leading tax professionals and thought leaders.Support the production of leading-edge learning/CPD content and resources which will enhance ICAEW's reputation as an authoritative professional body concerned with tax in all its aspects.Support the development of digital content for delivery through ICAEW's channels which reinforces the above responsibilities.All the above responsibilities to be undertaken in consultation and liaison with the wider ICAEW staff, membership, and relevant stakeholder groups. Specific duties will vary from time to time in line with the business needs.This is a full-time role based in Chartered Accountants Hall, London, but with the opportunity to consider flexible working arrangements. Technical Manager, Tax Candidate ProfileTechnical Manager, Tax Requirements include: The post holder is likely to possess the following qualities:a qualified Chartered Accountant or qualified tax specialist with an excellent general technical and practical knowledge of UK taxes and the UK tax system.proven writing and editing skills.good project management skills.excellent communication skills (both oral/listening, written and presentational), including an ability to adapt to develop to different styles and forms of media.the ability to adopt a flexible approach to the tasks to be completed and a conscientious attitude towards work.act as a team player, building strong working relationships within their team and with other teams across ICAEW.the ability to uphold the high-quality standards of work of the Tax Faculty and the chartered accountancy profession, working as required within our peer review processes.be responsible for managing their own time and workload to promote effective teamwork and meeting of internal or external deadlines.being open to learning, keeping one's own knowledge and skill set current and evolving.lead on assigned tasks and projects, supporting the delivery of team and business outcomes.
