What will you be doing

We are looking for an ambitious and energetic Business Development Manager to help us expand our clientele.

You will be the front of the Company and will have the dedication to create and apply an effective sales strategy.

The goal is to drive sustainable financial growth through boosting sales and forging strong relationships with clients.

Leveraging your expertise in the education industry, you will collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and implement effective sales strategies, cultivate strong client relationships, and drive the adoption of our innovative products.

Your outstanding communication, negotiation, and leadership skills will be vital in establishing new partnerships and nurturing existing ones.

This role will work with our clients in the US Market, however, be based within the UK.

Key responsibilities will include

  • Market Research: Conduct comprehensive research to identify potential target markets, analyse competitors, and stay abreast of emerging trends in the US education technology sector.
  • Business Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive business development plan tailored for the US market, driving sales growth while aligning with Avantis Education's overall objectives.
  • Client Engagement: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in educational institutions, including school districts, universities, and corporate training organisations.
  • Sales and Lead Generation: Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities through diverse channels, such as cold calling, networking, participation in industry events, and strategic partnerships.
  • Product Presentations: Effectively communicate the value proposition of Avantis Education's products and services to potential clients, customising presentations to address their specific needs and challenges.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations with clients, ensuring agreements are mutually beneficial and adhere to Avantis Education's pricing and service guidelines.
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with the marketing, product development, and customer success teams to gather client feedback and contribute to product enhancements and market positioning.
  • Sales Reporting: Track and analyse sales performance data, providing regular reports to management on progress, opportunities, and challenges in the US market.
  • Industry Events: Represent Avantis Education at US-based conferences, trade shows, and events to showcase our products, expand the company's network, and stay informed about market trends.

Ideally you will have

  • Proven experience as a Business Development Manager or similar role within the US education or education technology industry.
  • Thorough understanding of the US education market, curriculum needs, and the challenges faced by educational institutions.
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving sales targets and business objectives.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management abilities.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset to identify new opportunities and address market challenges.

Ideally you will be

  • Proficient in using CRM software and sales tools to track leads, opportunities, and sales performance.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable to be able to work with minimal supervision
