Database Engineer /DBA - SQL-Server, PostgreSQL and/or NoSQL - Powershell/Shell script - Hedge Fund
Hybrid working *** 3 days office
Leading Investment Management client is looking for a Database Engineer to join them on a permanent basis.
Skills and experience required:
- 3 years + experience in a similar role (Essential)
- Experience in database administration (at least two of the following: SQL-Server, PostgreSQL and NoSQL )
- Basic understanding of DB monitoring, analysis, disaster recovery, and performance tuning
- Experience in one or more database programming languages (SQL, T-SQL, PL/SQL etc.) and BI services (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS) for design, maintain, administrate, secure, backup and recovery across production, back test, UAT and development environments
- Experience of managing security and permissions
- Knowledge of industry best practices
- Good attention to detail, testing and documentation
- Organized with a proactive approach to work. Team player essential.
- Experience in scripting in Powershell/Shell script, Python would be a plus
- Experience in cloud DB admin would be a plus
- Experience within a similar environment- HIGHLY DESIRABLE
