Job Overview: Working alongside our client, an established plastic packaging manufacturer, we are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their team.Benefits: * Days Role * 25 Days Annual Leave + 8 Bank Holiday * Good Pension Scheme * Subsidised Canteen * Extensive Training OpportunitiesRemit: * An excellent opportunity offering job security and satisfaction for the successful applicant with a company who place great importance in the training and development of their staff * As a Maintenance Engineer, you will perform day to day mechanical and electrical maintenance of plant equipment to include injection moulding machinery and associated ancillary equipment, ensuring continuity of production, consistent with the company’s goals and needs. * You will have strong electrical and mechanical applications with proven experience of working within a structured maintenance programme whilst dealing with day-to-day breakdowns, faults and repairs.Role: * Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor you will maintain electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on injection moulding machinery, robotics, lasers, and material handling equipment * Adhere to company HSE policies and LOTO procedures * To undertake planned maintenance on designated equipment to maintain and improve production efficiency * Identify the root cause of breakdowns and faults on machinery * Perform safety checks and routine maintenance * Repair and replace defective parts as required * Implement continuous improvement activities * Strive to improve the efficiency and safety of plant and equipment * Maintain a high standard of record keeping for all repairs and servicing of plant and/or equipment as required for audit, traceability and warranty purposes, in accordance with the Quality Management SystemExperience Requirements: * Experience in Injection Moulding manufacturing would be beneficial * Previous experience in mechanical and electrical engineering * A good working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and electronic/electrical automation controls. * Apprenticeship trained or educated to an NVQ level 3 qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) * IEE 17th or 18th Edition desired * Experience of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) * Experience of reactive maintenance * Troubleshooting problems on various types of equipment * Be highly self-motivated, demonstrate passion, and be a team player with a flexible and ‘can-do’ attitude and the ability to work under pressure within tight deadlines.Key Words: “Maintenance Engineer”, “Maintenance Technician”, Maintenance Co-ordinator”, “Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer”, “Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Engineer”, “Injection Moulding”, “Plastics”Due to the sheer volume of applications we receive we will only contact successful applications that meet the requirements of our client job brief.
