Salary: £45,000 - £56,000
Burman Recruitment are currently working with a higher education client based in Scotland on the search for a Senior Management Accountant on a permanent basis.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with key personnel.
- Advise on financial matters and attend meetings as required.
- Address finance-related queries promptly and credibly.
- Prepare and overview monthly Income and Expenditure accounts.
- Analyse variances and participate in action planning.
- Facilitate budget setting and planning processes.
- Provide periodic re-forecasts and maintain staffing complement budgets.
- Contribute to annual HESA returns and University accounts.
- Participate in external statutory reporting as required.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Manage periodic claims to research funders accurately and promptly.
- Understand and analyse research activity trends and contributions.
- Conduct annual appraisals and promote open communication.
- Foster cross-departmental communication and continual improvement.
Essential Criteria:
- Accountancy qualification.
- Experience of working in a large, complex environment.
- Line management experience.
