Senior Product Manager (Firmware & Hardware)

Location: Fully on-site or hybrid (3 days + 2 days WFH) in our UK Head Office in Stoke-on-Trent (ST5 9HX). You must have the ability to reliably commute, or plan to relocate before starting work.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm.

Salary: £80,000-£90,000k pa depending on experience (plus performance bonus scheme).

Experience Level: Due to the nature of the role, a minimum of 3 years in a similar role delivering demonstrably successful hardware/firmware products is required. Experience in the energy industry is preferable, but not essential.

GivEnergy is Britain's marketing leading manufacturer of domestic & commercial energy storage solutions. We specialise in smart, internet connected inverters and battery systems that allow our customers to store their renewable/cheap-rate energy for any-time consumption.

Our products drive huge energy savings for our customer, while giving them the tools to reduce their carbon footprint though renewable storage, minimising peak grid demand and allowing them to use cheaper, greener energy at any time of day.

Our current customer base is highly technical, with many customers leveraging our market leading Public API to optimise their systems in increasingly clever ways.

We have recently added Smart Plugs and a smart, fully integrated EV Charger to our line-up giving our customers unprecedented control of their energy consumption, bills and impact on the environment.

What You’ll Be Doing:

While each day brings new challenges and opportunities, key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of customer use cases to inform roadmaps that directly address customer wants/needs.
  • Stay abreast of market trends, new technologies and regulatory frameworks to inform smart, commercial decision making.
  • Product Enhancement; work closely with our Head of Product, developers and senior stakeholders to define and prioritise product features and improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams refine, plan and release enabling firmware.
  • Contribute to the development of product roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs.
  • Conduct competitive analysis to identify opportunities for differentiation and innovation.
  • Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation.
  • Generate regular reports and presentations to communicate findings and progress to stakeholders.
  • Write Users Stories and detailed technical Acceptance Criteria.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Business or Related Field (MBA preferred)
  • Proven experience as a Product Manager in the energy storage, renewable energy, or related experience.
  • Strong technical background with a deep understanding of batteries, inverters, and electric vehicle chargers.
  • Excellent project management skills with a track record of successful product launches.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards in the energy storage industry is a plus.
