What you'll be doing

The Training Manager is to work to identify knowledge gaps, create engaging content, and plan and execute Sentinel training courses and internal training courses to further enhance developmental training in our growing Rail Plant business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that new starters and current employees learn new skills, and quickly develop the knowledge and ability to settle in and become experts at what they do
  • Deliver in person training sessions, which include detailed post-course feedback and line manager guidance
  • Develop, manage and supervise our induction programmes with the result that new staff feel safe, confident and valued in doing their job as early as possible and that they know how to live the company's values
  • Collaborate with senior managers and leadership teams to create and implement talent development processes, identify future talent needs, and provide ongoing support for individual growth.
  • Create content and design and agree on delivery methods of training programmes for all new starters and existing employees
  • Continually monitor the external and competitor markets for best practice in training delivery and development
  • Take action to improve the quality and effectiveness of training and coaching
  • Ensure that compliance record keeping is exceptional.
  • Who we're looking for

    The following qualities/experience are essential:

  • A track record of both creating training programmes and also delivering face to face sessions in group settings
  • Proven ability to create training programmes and content to maximise learning potential
  • Level 3 award or equivalent qualification in training and/or assessing competence in the work environment
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills, Public Speaking/Experience delivering webinars an advantage
  • Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to influence key stakeholders in a corporate environment
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an Engineering Discipline.
